Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute celebrated its 26th Annual Day Function on 18th
and 19th November 2011.The event was held at the Air Force Auditorium. Air Marshal
Naresh Verma AVSM VSM, Director General Administration (Works & Ceremonials) graced
the occasion as the Chief Guest and Smt Swati Verma was the guest of honour
The programme commenced with an orchestral performance by the Senior Wing students.Then
the Principal addressed the gathering, highlighting the achievements of the students
not only in academics but also in the field of Sports and extra-curricular activities.
Then the prizes were given away by Smt Swati Verma to the meritorious students.
The highlight of the Annual Day celebrations was the release of ‘Milestones’,
a newsletter which extensively covered the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the school.
Then the Chief Guest addressed the gatherings and congratulated all the prize winners
and wished that the school would reach greater heights of glory in the times to
come.
The main cultural programme began with a dance-drama entitled ‘Mahabahu Brahmaputra’.
The theme emphasized on the important role played by the river Brahamputra in uniting
diverse cultures and religions. The students of all the three Wings participated
in it.
Finally there was a soulful rendition of the song ‘Dola’ by the school
choir as a special tribute to legendry maestro, Bhupen Hazarika which enthralled
the audience.
The celebrations concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem.
Overall the 26th Annual Day function of AFGJI turned out to be grand success and
was appreciated by one and all.
